About the Artist Studios
The Artist Studios at the Boston Center for the Arts are dedicated to providing affordable workspace and a supportive environment to artists in all disciplines, and at all stages of artistic development. Artists working in studios at the BCA include painters, printmakers, sculptors, filmmakers, craftspeople, writers, performing artists and other art-related organizations.
The building includes fifty work-only studios for artists and arts organizations (studios are not live-in spaces). Studio sizes range from 110 sq ft to 1500 sq ft.
Artists and arts organizations are selected and placed in studios at the BCA through an application and jury-review process as studios become available.

Studio 403
Sophie Truong is a French born mixed media artist. She likes to combine various materials such as paper, fabric, wood, metal, etc. using traditional sewing, weaving and embroidery techniques in innovative ways, thus pushing the boundaries of the traditional meaning of these crafts. In addition to her artwork, Truong recently started making handmade leather bags and accessories out of her BCA studio. She also has a blog where she posts about her inspiration and work in progress.

Studio 206
Konstantin Simun was born in Leningrad, USSR, in 1934. He studied sculpture at the secondary school of Arts at the I.Repin Art Institute (Leningrad), then at the Tallinn Art Institute (Estonia), and from 1953 to 1957 at the I.Repin institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1958 he became a member of the Artists' Union of the USSR. Since 1988 he has been living in the USA. K. Simun has created numerous works which have been widely exhibited throughout Russia and the United States. He is the author of the 1966 monument "Broken Ring" (near St. Petersburg, Russia), which brought him international recognition, and is acknowledged as one of the most significant memorials of World War II. K. Simun's works are in the permanent collections of Russia's largest museums, such as the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moskow, the State Russian Museum in St.Petersburg, the Perm Gallery in Perm and others, as well as in private collections. His work "Totem: America" was exhibited at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, Massachusetts, from 1993 to 2002, and brought him great popularity. He is the author of the Memorial to puppeteer I. Fokin installed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2001.
