What would you do if you had no more homework? Explore musical theatre by participating in an interactive workshop, watching the 2pm World Premier showing of The Homework Machine and then going on a behind the scenes tour!

What does family mean to you? We will create mixed-media posters that represent our own family circles. We will then put them together to create a large wall size mural that shows how we are all connected!

If you were a superhero – what would your power be? Bring your superhero to life while working with teaching artists from Company One Theatre. Programmed in conjunction with Company One Theatre’s summer production of Astro Boy and The God of Comics.

Collage for ages 4 and up
Artist Beverly Sky uses images and patterns from different kinds of fabric to create narrative collages. Use the same techniques at home to create your own collage that tells a story about you!

Printmakers like Ruth Ginsberg-Place are able to make many copies of the same image by reapplying ink to their printing block. Create your own block at home.

The Future of the Past: Encaustic Art in the 21st Century

Encaustic/Crayon Painting for ages 4 and up
In encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, artists apply colored wax to the surface of their painting. This simplified kid-friendly process uses crayons.

Musical Instruments for ages 2 and up
The encaustic painters In Future of the Past make their paintings by adding colored pigments to heated beeswax; however, this is just one of the ways wax can be used to create works of art. In this project, use wax-covered paper to create your own musical instruments!
