May 23 – June 19, 2016

Zoé Dance nurtures the art of dance, dance theatre and performance through accessible performance venues, educates the public, and creates social awareness through themes explored in repertory. Founded in 2002, Zoé Dance has presented works by Callie Chapman Korn, Ivan Korn, Emily Beattie and Meghan Ballog. Zoé Dance continues to perform in publicly accessible venues to make the art of dance an approachable art form for all, and to heighten the awareness of dance in the Boston area and beyond.

During their residency, Zoé Dance will further develop Becoming Undone. An interdisciplinary, site-specific work that explores the themes of introspection and letting go of the superficial, the complexity of loosening hard-and-fast beliefs, and a general sense of redefining, deepening, and transformation. This concept utilizes dance as a catalyst in conjunction with projection design, visual art installations, and theatrical lighting to support this vision.

Viewers have described Becoming Undone as…
"…visually and viscerally breathtaking, edgy yet hospitable, music we wish we owned, unpredictable and unexpected, whimsy, humor, contemplative, emotionally disturbing and thought provoking. Beautiful dancing and emotional narrative left us with much to talk about on the ride home. We were both moved, delighted and impressed by the work.” –Joanie Block, Audience Member

"A great evening—Full of things to watch (and do), often fun, wonderful dancing, technology as smooth as could be (not to mention imaginative and fascinating), moving—and on and on. Thank you so much for it."
–Eleanor Duckworth, Audience Member
