Kill 1

Mediums: Drawing, painting, mixed media

Born and raised in rural Southeastern Massachusetts. Studied Fiber Art at Mass College of Art in early 1980’s. Graduated from UMass, Boston with B.A. in Studio Art. Studied painting with artist Richard Yarde.

Kneeland’s work considers the natural world, its various organisms, and the issues that affect them. She is interested in ubiquitous vulnerabilities, strengths, and contradictions that create connections. Inspired by biology, politics and memory, she collects raw materials from a variety of sources: some planned, others by chance.

Kneeland is currently revisiting older series of unfinished abstract oil paintings that have been on her mind for quite a while. While doing so, she is also reviewing her overall work from the past several years in preparation for a new body of work.
