MOTHER G

Set in a Black Baptist Church in 1963, Mother G is the story of the beautiful choir director Hazel, who is ultimately seduced and betrayed by the charismatic Reverend Mercy. This is an amazing story of one woman, who would not stand for injustice in God's house and with courage faced evil head-on. Inspired by true events, Mother G is lively and filled with great gospel music and some of Boston's finest singers.

Approximate Running Time: 2 hours and 10 minutes; including one intermission

Recommended for ages 12 and older.

THE CHILDREN'S HOUR

The Children's Hour is a serious adult play about two women who run a school for girls. After a malicious youngster starts a rumor about the two women, the rumor soon turns to scandal. As the young girl comes to understand the power she wields, she sticks by her story, which precipitates tragedy for the women.

Approximate Running Time: 2 hours; including one intermission

Recommended for ages 10 and older.

FEATHERS ON MY ARMS & BESS THE BRAVE
(Two one-act plays are performed as one event)

Feathers On My Arms...Zora Neale Flying High is the story of young Zora Neale Hurston and her amazing imagination. It is filled with lots of laughter, love, and difficult times.

Bess the Brave is the story of young Bessie Colman, the first African American female pilot, and her struggles as a woman and African American to achieve her dream to fly.

Approximate Running Time: 2 hours; including one intermission

Recommended for ages 10 and older.
