Panel Discussion and Closing Reception
The Skin Has Eyes: Animated Visions
Mills Gallery
Free
Sunday, April 28 | 2–5 pm

The Skin Has Eyes exhibition curator Maya Erdelyi is a Boston-based award-winning animator and director whose intricate hand-made animations braid together hybrid approaches to cut-paper stop-motion, puppetry, print-making, hand-drawn, digital animation and installation. Erdelyi and BCA Director of Visual Arts Randi Hopkins will moderate a panel discussion on contemporary animation, in conversation with participating exhibition artists: Laura Harrison, Evan Fellers and Kristina Killar Fellers, Gina Kamentsky, Hayley Morris, Ashley Wick, Amanda Bonauito and Jake Fried. The Skin Has Eyes: Animated Visions is on view at the Mills Gallery at Boston Center for the Arts February 23–April 28. The panel, and the lively reception afterwards, will conclude this exhibit.

The exhibition features work by 13 experimental artists working across mediums including film strips and direct animation, cut-paper stop-motion, sculpture, drawing, painting, zoetropes, traditional animation processes, palimpsests and projections. Exhibition artists include: Amanda Bonaiuto, Alexandra Borovski, Ernesto Caivano, Eric Dyer, Maya Erdelyi, Jake Fried, Tyler Giordano, Laura Harrison, Gina Kamentsky, Amy Lee Ketchum, Kristina Killar Fellers + Black Math, Hayley Morris and Ashley Wick.
