open studios 2015 banner

South End Open Studios is celebrating its 29th anniversary this year. SEOS encompasses 12 major buildings and numerous smaller spaces throughout the South End.

The free event showcases the works of more than 200 established and emerging artists creating art in a wide variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass and fiber.

You can see over 30 of those artists here at the BCA in our Artist Studios Building!

The public is welcomed into their studios and galleries to meet the artists, talk about the art and purchase art directly from the artists. A number of artists will also be doing In-Studio demonstrations throughout the event including photography, paper quilts, and letterpress printing.

South End Open Studios is the only time when all of the major art buildings in the South End are open to the public. SEOS is your unique chance to explore the roots of the modern South End and to salute the artists who moved to the neighborhood long before the warehouses were renovated, the lofts were built and the brownstones were gentrified. In many ways it was the energy of the artists that has created what today is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city.

South End Open Studios is FREE to the public.
