Karen Kelley Gill—BCA Board of Directors

Karen has worked in the field of nonprofit finance for more than twenty-five years, and is currently Director of Operations and Administration at the Klarman Family Foundation. Previously, Karen was the Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer for the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC), and its affiliated organization, the Children’s Investment Fund. CEDAC is a non-profit, quasi-public community development lender and technical assistance provider with a combined $240 million in lending capital, fiduciary conduit, and off-balance sheet activity. In that position, Karen managed corporate program integration and agency operations, capital acquisition and structuring, compliance, human resources, and MIS development.

Prior to joining CEDAC, Karen served as Financial Officer of the National Arts Stabilization Fund, and has held other financial positions in both the non-profit and private sector.

Karen has consulted to community-based organizations in the areas of operations, accounting/finance and strategic planning. For ten years, Karen was an adjunct faculty member of the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy at Tufts University, where she taught financial management.

Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Public and Nonprofit Management and Finance from Boston University.
